Considering the prayer meeting

some thoughts on prayer and the church prayer meeting…

This post is NOT intended to discourage believers (especially the young, but the mature as well) from engaging with the local church body at prayer meetings.  It is intended to call us to consider and then petition our Father regarding those things that we set up as obstacles that keep us from honest genuine confession of our truest needs within our fellowship with God and the body at these prayer meetings.  Paul Washers comments should, at least, give us pause to pray for truth and discernment regarding a seemingly dying ministry in the church.. ‘the church prayer meeting’.

“The neglected heart will soon be a heart overrun with worldly thoughts; the neglected life will soon become a moral chaos; the church that is not jealously protected by mighty intercession and sacrificial labors will before long become the abode of every evil bird and the hiding place for unsuspected corruption. The creeping wilderness will soon take over that church that trusts in its own strength and forgets to watch and pray.”  A. W. Tozer
