God’s Justice

This brief paragraph from Jerry Bridges book, The Gospel for Real Life, has my thoughts reaching deeper…

God does not exalt His mercy at the expense of His justice.  And in order to maintain His justice, all sin without exception must be punished.  Contrary to popular opinion, with God there is no such thing as mere forgiveness.  There is only justice.

Because of Jesus Christ, I am able to know and experience God’s mercy and I am a witness of His justice.  I have seen, in the Cross, Jesus Christ absorbing God’s wrath for sin… my sin.   And I have been justified through this Beautiful Savior as He took my place… my death; His perfect pure Blood for mine.  Glory!
