I’m posting something here that I was reminded of by a friend’s facebook status, thanks Ted&Ivy :). It brought me back to Roy Hession’s book ‘The Calvary Road’. If you can find a copy, I highly recommend it. (my last two copies are in someone else’s hands, so I may need to get a few more).
1 John 1:7-If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, cleanseth us from all sin.
‘When anything reproves us, shows up as we really are–that is light. But whenever we do anything or say anything(or don’t say anything) to hide what we are or what we’ve done –that is darkness.‘ -Roy Hession
And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!”
(Isaiah 6:5 ESV)
[5 ] This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. [6 ] If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. [7 ] But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. [8 ] If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9 ] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10 ] If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
(1 John 1:5-10 ESV)
