1/2/2012, thoughts on David and Jonathan

I am enjoying a ‘free’ day.  January 2, 2012 is a day (for me) of unplanned rest and opportunity to give attention to things that often get put aside because, though important, they don’t always register as urgent… and let’s face it, many of us have become fire-fighters in our day of hurriedness.  Fires can burn unattended today; I’m taking time for urgent matters.  Loving God for one.  My spiritual health, for two.  Loving my brother, for three.  Impacting my world for four?

Love for my brother.  Here is one love I am learning to share and enjoy with some, few, many.

The internet… the blogosphere has opened friendships that I would never have known.  For this I am grateful to God.

John, Blaine, Chris, Erik, Mike, Steve and others – I am grateful.  Thank you.  Your words, God’s words through you, have been of great benefit to me.

My church… the tide of relationships in a local body can come and go and some leave signs of their coming, they change the shoreline of what was and what is intended…ordained to be.  For God’s provision of these blessings in my life past, current… and future.  I am so very thankful.

I’m of the opinion that few men are so free and blessed to enjoy fellowship like David and Jonathan.  I hope I am wrong and I hope this changes.  Men in battle forge great relationships.  For me, there are just a few.  To heaven… from earth… I hope God continues to use you in my life here; an alien waiting to go home.

Love you guys, without dissimulation and with brotherly affection.  (Rom 12:9-10)

Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. (Romans 12:9-10 ESV)
