Echoes of mercy… abide in the Savior

Echoes… a good word that captures how God is faithfully and wonderfully providing for me and talking to me.  God is the origin, the Alpha and Omega, even while He remains Eternal – without beginning and without end.

The echoes keep resounding, keep repeating what He has spoken to us.  Sometimes He speaks out of the whirlwind as with Job and sometimes in the sound of a low whisper as with Elijah, and sometimes He bears us up through echoes of His love and truth… telling, re-telling, reminding… “This is the way walk in it.” (Is30:21)

Our God is faithful, always.  The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning… Lam3:22    ‘Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.’

What is going on in your life that tempts you away from abiding each moment in Jesus Christ?  My best guess is that it is something good, something innocent… something that has all the markings of following Jesus.  So, its not necessarily the ‘thing’ but our response…  I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20 ESV)

Echoes.  What echoes are you receiving from the Savior today.  Jesus Christ is being faithful to give you Himself and to remind you that in you…self… is death, but in Him is Life.  Abiding… resting… living, running, fighting, dying, putting off and putting on… all through Christ in us, the hope of Glory.

For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel,  “In returning and rest you shall be saved;   in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”  But you were unwilling,   (Isaiah 30:15 ESV)

Thank you Lord for the echoes of mercy You faithfully provide in the work You are completing in me… us.

These lyrics echoed mercy and grace to me this morning…
