James follows verses 4 and 5 of chapter 4 with this wonderful phrase, “But He gives more grace.”
This post is simply to refer me back to Proverbs 3:33-35, regarding this reminder of God’s grace in a particular context or setting via a cross-reference in my bible. It is my prelude to considering verses 4 and 5 of chapter 4 as James calls a spade a spade.
The LORD’s curse is on the house of the wicked,
but he blesses the dwelling of the righteous.
Toward the scorners he is scornful,
but to the humble he gives favor.
The wise will inherit honor,
but fools get disgrace.
