Some favorite Truths…
1 Pet 4:12 Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God.
Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
1 Thes 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing,
give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.Jer 9:23-24 Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.”
Prov 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.

Are you Facing Hopelessness?
I am so blessed to see the glory of God reflected in His creatures. How He speaks through a mind and heart renewed by the Gospel… may God be glorified in us as we find hope, eternal hope, in Him. … Continue reading
Getting to the heart of it
How are you doing in the war for control of your heart? Have you set up idols in your heart? (Ezek 14:1-5) “An idol of the heart is anything that rules me other than God…. If God isn’t ruling my … Continue reading
Raptured… when?
This is a backburner consideration for me right now. I’m posting this to keep track of this view, even as I listen and consider others. It’s even hard for me not to just take John MacArthur’s view as my own, … Continue reading
“when, mindful of God…”
For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly. (1 Peter 2:19 ESV) How different life, and my perspective on it, looks when I am mindful of God. Just sitting here with a … Continue reading
Redeeming Jeremiah 29:11
Do we need to redeem Jeremiah 29:11 from misapplication and misunderstanding and misuse? We can; simply by enjoying this promise in its context as it was intended. I have cheated myself of the enjoyment of this passage in reaction to … Continue reading
A ‘political’ calling
Carefully and respectfully, I asked a reasoned, thoughtful, wise mother of nine – Do you think a low bar of Constitutional allegiance is outdated or mute? (btw, this mother of 9 has multiple sons in West Point)… She graciously responded … Continue reading
My After-Death Experience
There are no good works apart from regeneration(new birth). Sanctification(works of) without regeneration is like a well-dressed, cosmetically-primped corpse in the plushest mahogany casket money can buy; it offers great effort with external results, but in the end death still reigns. … Continue reading
The saints’ and angels’ song
The theme of corporate or gathered worship has been on my mind for the past week. I was listening to a Christmas season sermon by John Piper and he made a point of the angel of the Lord appearing to the shepherds … Continue reading
